[ There seem to be two Pokemon on this dispatch! You get a sense of both a Hisuian Typhlosion AND a Hisuian Zoroark, though the perspective is a little dizzying before settling down into (mostly) one psychic perspective. The Typhlosion's, probably; it's mostly his perspective with a vague sense of what he thinks he looks like now. Psychic pearls are hard, who knew? ]

Good afternoon, fellow passengers! I am Ingo, and this is Emmet - my brother.

[ So so smooth, it comes so naturally to introduce someone as his family member! ]

We are both from a world with Pokemon originally! We were humans there, and I'm afraid we do not have any idea how this might have happened - this is not the sort of thing that is supposed to be possible! But we would like to offer our help in navigating these new tracks! Between the two of us, we can help to identify your species and typing, as well as other facts about your new forms! We are also both very familiar with Pokemon battling! If you wish to learn to fight, we can provide assistance! I'm very excited to have battles in this new way, and the more people who can participate, the more fun it will be!

[ Emmet, it seems, is a man of much fewer words than his brother! At least when they're in the same space, anyway. His address is also smooth, very smooth, picking up after Ingo's like clockwork.

... for those who have already met them both and / or have heard at least some amount of their circumstances already, isn't there some kind of explanation missing? Oh well, must not be important. ]

Well, protection at least is why I have it strapped behind me for now...

[He could get in a whole debate all over again. In fact, he almost recounts it in his head. Almost.

Mostly it's a faded echo because he quickly realizes what's happening and drops the pearl.

He picks it back up again after a short bit though.]

[He just taps his chin as he thinks about that. At least this kid isn't uh, alarmed by being a prey animal?]

I'm guessing 'mandibuzz' is some kind of bird?

[Vultures look less cool....also, Emporio's images from 'home' all look an awful lot like book pages.]

[The mental image certainly helps. Yes, yes, he knows what those are! Couldn't have told you about them a second ago, but he recognizes it now!]

Oh! Have you got a bone club as well?

Yep. Dark and Flying. Often found in more rugged areas or near cliffs and such. Not always, but.

[ But oh! Bone Club, right. This is where Emmet ponders the image of the peeled Cubone that started this entire exchange.

I... is there a bone club, actually. Did it just not make it into the self image? These psychic connections have definitely been a learning experience, after all. Maybe it's just not internalized? ]

Ah. That does make sense. [rip] Well, I'm sure you can find some sort of replacement if you wish for it! That is Cubone's signature style of attack, and one they're quite good at, but they certainly do know other moves!

[For the first time in this conversation- at least excluding how it began- a heavy sensation of nervousness bleeds through the pearl.

(There is a faint echo of a whisper, a panicked admission- he is disarmed. He left it in the ocean. This is not about the ocean Here, but rather Elsewhere,)

And then the echo is gone. The nervousness sure as heck isn't, though.] O...Oh.

So...I need to learn to fight...and also learn to fight with a handicap then.

At least until I can find a weapon...

[Ingo is obviously alarmed and guilty at the sensation of distress!]

I am sure you could just find a good stick! And...well, I suppose you do not have to learn to fight...? [though like why would you not]

Emporio disconnects, steadies himself, and comes back to the pearl with a clear head again.]

No...I...I should probably learn, if it's as much of a risk as it sounds like.

Uh...

...do you have a place for this in mind though? I'm in the Lum Guild, and we live in city limits- I haven't really seen anywhere that looks good for a fight here.

....I wouldn't necessarily know a good place on sight though, to be fair.

....I'll work without a weapon to start, to be safe though. It wouldn't be good if I was suddenly unable to fight once disarmed.

There are some open spots outside of town! Let me...

[He'll try to project both the image and location of a field he's already noted. The beach is where he and Emmet had their disastrous attempted battle, but it isn't the best location - too biased, with all that water nearby.]

[There's a bit of image bleed as the location Ingo indicates is located on a mental map- rather, a memory of the map he saw in the Lum Guild.

He thinks he's got it though.]

Mmmm...Yes! I think I've got it. I can go there now?

Hmmm...well, I do not see why we could not. [He glances sidelong at Emmet.] Maybe in a few more minutes, so we can finish answering questions?

Seems fine to me. And if there are stragglers. We can probably still answer while en route?

[Nodding, nodding.] Got it.

Just let me know, and I'll be there then.

[And indeed he will, once given the cue to head on over. Emporio, helmet strapped to his back, and pearl on hand.

[They'll be along eventually! The brothers keep pace with each other easily, Ingo trotting along at Emmet's side, pleased that the task of walking on two legs has slowed him down a bit. Zoroark are much faster than Typhlosion!]

[Wow, peeled Cubone is weirder to see in person...]

[ Just because he can do it does not mean this whole 'walking while holding the pearl' thing doesn't feel weird, for the record. He keeps wanting to drop forward and just get there faster already, but. ]

I am Emmet. And you are the interesting Cubone. Hello.

[ Peeled Cubone... ]

[Well, he supposes this is part of pokemon life now- this part where occassionally he has to look very far up to properly see anyone's face.

It doesn't help that he's a bit small for a cubone.]

Hello! [the boy greets at any rate, a nod coming with the words.] Uh...

Oh. I didn't introduce myself huh... Um, my name is Emporio, [the cubone says- with yet another nod.] And you're Emmet, and...

That makes you Ingo, right?

[You're both quite tall, he does not say, in part because everyone is fairly tall when you're only a foot yourself.]

[Hm. He's used to teaching newbie trainers and Pokemon, but not usually from this position...]

I suppose we ought to see what you have learned on your own first! Do you know how to use any moves yet?

Easy to forget sometimes. [ to introduce yourself, that is. ] It's fine.

[ If it helps, Emporio, they're less tall when on all fours? Though the fox is going to yawn and stretch himself out a bit, paws splayed out in front of him (though the one holding the pearl remains facing upward to keep it from contact with the ground), as he drops down and back into a very feline looking stretch.

Hmm, maybe he should look into getting a satchel of some sort... He can hang on to the pearl for now with Ingo currently handling the bulk of interacting-with-people duties, but Emmet's alert and waiting for Emporio's response too. ]

[Honestly he'd tuck his pearl into the helmet- makes a handy pseudo bag, that- but given what they're about to be doing he's probably going to need it.

The pearl gets itself a nice safe spot at the side, and from there the cubone shakes his head.]

I can pretty confidently say 'no'. I know a lot of the others were having...some pretty explosive reactions earlier in January, [he hums, tail swaying a bit behind him,] ...But the most I ever heard was that my tail was distracting, which doesn't really count...

[ that's tail whip little guy- ]

Is there any good way to know what someone should be capable of..?

Mmm, well...I am not personally very familiar with Cubone's early moveset. But I would be surprised if you did not know at least a weak ground-type attack.

[Mud-Slap, maybe even just Sand Attack?]

Emmet?

[ he has to think for a moment before shaking his head a little. ]

Don't remember really seeing them wild in Unova. Marowak, yes. Lower level Cubone, not so much.

[ which is a little interesting when he thinks about it, but maybe it's just that they keep much further away and out of sight, out of places they'd likely be found easily. since. well. Mandibuzz. ]

Hmm. Headbutt: likely, with the skull on. Probably a few instinctual status moves? Growl and Tail Whip. Smaller, lower level Pokemon often have at least one move that helps lower aggression. Probably a weak ground move like you said. I would say maybe also Bone Club, but...

[ Emmet cocks his head. ]

Wonder if he could improvise something else?

[He might not hear that musing, but just that bit about not really seeing cubone at all makes sense. Hide the kids, there's birds about.]

Headbutting things would definitely give this more use...

[So he mutters while flipping the helmet on in one smooth motion.

Finally something normal for the boys.] I guess I could...try charging something?

[Tail...whip...] What makes 'Tail Whip' status related?

It lowers your opponent's defense! Status moves are not just obvious status ailments such as poisoning or paralysis! They are any moves that do not cause direct damage! So lowering the opponent's stats or increasing your own are also examples of status moves! There are also a number that involve altering the battlefield - you might be able to learn Stealth Rock and Sandstorm, though you would likely need special tutoring. The former causes hazards for the opponent in the form of floating sharp rocks, and Sandstorm is just that.

Headbutt would not affect either of us, since we are ghost-types. Perhaps you could try it on a tree! Smaller Pokemon often do that to knock berries down!

[He's not putting that thing in his mouth. Ingo is still holding out on carrying anything but food that way!]
