video, at the end of october

[A weird, half-dead sunflower seed with dilated eyes and sweat rolling down its shell appears, shouting at you from the clinic.]

THE VOTE IS CLOSE!!!!!!! VOTE FOR UMBREON NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[He grabs the Grumpearl with a vine.]

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT VOTING FOR LURANTIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Nurse Chansey from the clinic visibly tries to wrestle the Grumpearl away from him. He shouts various curses that Emporio taught him. You may or may not have a headache now.]

...So that's what happened.

[Akechi heaves a heavy sigh. Flowey. Flowey, why?]

Let me guess. Icefall Lake?

Snow, ice, freezing water, subzero conditions, and plants do not mix. You do not need to be a skilled gardener to know that.

It is especially foolish to be heading out there at this point unless one is particularly suited and more than simply 'adequately prepared,' given that conditions now are worse than when it was first explored, and only set to worsen. Foolish overconfidence is not becoming on anyone.

[ Hence: taking the wind out of Flowey's sails. ]

Birds don't fare particularly well in the cold, either. That's why my group took extreme caution, particularly in light of an unruly team member.

[He grumbles under his breath.]

If one is to explore the region, they need to dress accordingly, have team members to compensate for their weaknesses, and an escape plan if it gets out of hand.

Poor little bird, grounded by the hailstorms and blizzards out there.

[ Singsong and crooning. Really, why would he go out to such a place when it means he would be all but useless, a liability to the group at best? ]

I had Safety Goggles to protect me from the hail, and we brought Agnes-san to accommodate for the cold.

[He draws a breath, holding it for a moment.]

But, I was also assigned to keep Kaiba-san out of trouble. It was not my first choice, but we made do.

Because goggles will protect the rest of your body, and not just your eyes. [ Maybe he is small enough that it acts as protective armor instead? What an interesting mental image. ] To my knowledge, small birds will try to avoid even rainstorms, let alone the kind of weather one would find in Icefall. As for fire-types ... Well.

Guilmon, too, was a fire type. A frozen lake is still a lake beneath.

[ Rip to them. ]

Safety Goggles are... strange. For some inexplicable reason, they prevent hail damage in its entirety as well as protecting from sandstorm damage and powder moves.

[He shrugs. Really, it's not the strangest thing he's experienced h ere.]

Fortunately, we explored the crevasses rather than the lake. By all accounts, Agnes-san's fire and Drought ability served their purpose despite the difficulties.

Fascinating that simple eyewear alone will protect you from broken bones. The rest of it follows logical sense. That part does not. It does not protect you from Powder Snow or Icy Wind, yes? By all means they would be more minor in my estimation than say, a softball-sized hailstone.

[ Nevermind the kind of hail that breaks windows and glass. Now, can they determine where that line falls, if he speaks truth? It sounds like an interesting little experiment.

(Frankly, they think a little that he's just trying to save face after also having admitted to heading out somewhere unwisely and getting lucky, but they will not say that.)

Musingly: ]

Perhaps we might all wear goggles the next time we are set to face rock slides. But the ice ... I see.

I have heard there are hidden pitfalls there, as well as ice upon which there is little purchase. [ Sliding ice puzzles where the penalty for getting things wrong is falling to who knows where, rather than simply just messing up the pattern of xes and os... ] I suppose you were warned to bring rope? Or were you merely given directions, and set loose after?
