[ There seem to be two Pokemon on this dispatch! You get a sense of both a Hisuian Typhlosion AND a Hisuian Zoroark, though the perspective is a little dizzying before settling down into (mostly) one psychic perspective. The Typhlosion's, probably; it's mostly his perspective with a vague sense of what he thinks he looks like now. Psychic pearls are hard, who knew? ]

Good afternoon, fellow passengers! I am Ingo, and this is Emmet - my brother.

[ So so smooth, it comes so naturally to introduce someone as his family member! ]

We are both from a world with Pokemon originally! We were humans there, and I'm afraid we do not have any idea how this might have happened - this is not the sort of thing that is supposed to be possible! But we would like to offer our help in navigating these new tracks! Between the two of us, we can help to identify your species and typing, as well as other facts about your new forms! We are also both very familiar with Pokemon battling! If you wish to learn to fight, we can provide assistance! I'm very excited to have battles in this new way, and the more people who can participate, the more fun it will be!

[ Emmet, it seems, is a man of much fewer words than his brother! At least when they're in the same space, anyway. His address is also smooth, very smooth, picking up after Ingo's like clockwork.

... for those who have already met them both and / or have heard at least some amount of their circumstances already, isn't there some kind of explanation missing? Oh well, must not be important. ]

I know you already told me you aren't familiar with my species, but I do wonder if there's a way to determine my "type."

Apparently key-type doesn't exist.

There is! [ a beat. ] It will unfortunately involve some trial and error. Mainly in terms of what kinds of attacks you do and don't find easy to endure.

[ aka you're going to have to get moves get thrown at you, A.B.A, if you haven't already had any experience with that. ]

Ssssssometimes you can guess from what kinds of attacks you find easier to perform, but that isn't always very reliable...?

If it has already happened. And you can remember what the attacks were and how you reacted. We might be able to narrow things down enough to make it easier?

[Her attacks, huh? A.B.A tries to recall the battles she had... They all played out quite the same...]

I became enraged, I would glow, and then I would strike.

[The moves in question were Work Up and Outrage, but as far as she's concerned, they just played out like her usual tantrums. And if no one knows what species she is, chances are no one's going to know the name of that signature move she used alongside them.

She liked that one, now that she thinks about it...]

There was one I enjoyed in particular... The way it glowed, it was my favorite color... A blue so clear, you can peer into its depths...

[Despite her rage and confusion, that moment of memory starts to come in clear. For a brief second, her battle with a familiar Sprigatito starts to play from her point of view. There's a lot of screaming on her end, but the blue aura is just as she describes. It surrounds her body, as well as her vision, and the slash of Multi-Attack is fierce. Still, despite the intensity of the attack, the tiny green cat appears to resist it...]

[ Blue, resisted by grass. (Ren certainly got into a fair few scraps, didn't he?) Oh! ]

Grass resists ground, water, itself, and electric. So that move you used is one of those. Most likely Water from the color?

But that does not prove you are a water-type. It will be a decent place to start, though! We can try types water resists like fire to confirm without causing as much hurt.

[ he says, like the idea of setting someone on fire is no big deal. And hey, what do you know, there's a convenient source of fire right here— ]

If it helps. I got hit by his Ember already and it was fine. And I do not have a resistance.

[ that attempted battle became a mess for other reasons (which. she... probably catches some of the beginnings of, an out of context flash of recollection of trying to change himself and failing and pai- Nope we are abandoning this track—) but it wasn't because he couldn't power through the Ember! ]

What were you trying to accomplish there? You were fighting? I've often heard siblings tend to squabble...

Not a fight, just wanted to spar. Things derailed. Did it to myself. My own fault.

[ this explains nothing, especially because he hastily cut the memory off before the actual pain of trying to illusion to look like himself was sent through the telepathic network, so: ]

Zoroark are supposed to be able to change shape. There was a misunderstanding so I was trying to prove I was me. Didn't work.

[To anyone else, they might be concerned about...well, all of that. It's!! Very concerning!! To A.B.A, all she hears is a transgression.

Oh, my goodness...I certainly do not know what you are either, I'm afraid!

[But yes, he just sort of nods along to Emmet's explanation of how that testing would work!]

Not to worry, the Pokémon here are equally unfamiliar. Honestly, I'd be shocked if you did know...

[Although it...scares her that Emmet's explanation doesn't seem to horrify him as much as it does her. They really are brothers.....]

Regardless, I'd still like to perform at my full potential. Ignorance is not an excuse for lackluster performance.

We might at least test for immunities first? If you have one of those, it narrows the field quite a bit!

Still, she can't help but enjoy the little bout of happiness if gave her, her tail wagging if only for a second. She wants to be a good Pokémon so badly... She already considered herself a great homunculus, it's only right.

That joy fades when she realizes what this next test might imply.]

Testing for immunities isn't the same as testing for resistances...is it?

Very similar! If an electric-type attack cannot affect you, for example, then we will know you are certainly a ground-type! At least partially!

I suppose I'll have to find someone who can perform electric attacks, then...

They can just use something like Thunder Wave! That does not even really hurt, it only causes paralysis.

It will wear off! It is not even entirely consistent, you could still move...oh, probably three out of four times!

Lightning Rod. Draws electric moves to it. Will absorb to boost own power.

[ A Zebstrika with its tail held high, pulling in an opposing Discharge. ]

Motor Drive. Will absorb electric moves directed at it to help move faster.

[ Another Zebstrika, getting hit by a Thunderbolt and going zoom. ]

Volt Absorb. Will absorb electric moves directed at it to heal.

[ Pachirisu, tanking through a Zap Cannon with excitable cheer and only seeming more energized for it. ]

jarring, to say the least. not painful, per se, but definitely not something he wants to have a repeat experience for. in physical space he has to shake to clear his head of the sensation, before also pulling away a little from the pearl.
