[ There seem to be two Pokemon on this dispatch! You get a sense of both a Hisuian Typhlosion AND a Hisuian Zoroark, though the perspective is a little dizzying before settling down into (mostly) one psychic perspective. The Typhlosion's, probably; it's mostly his perspective with a vague sense of what he thinks he looks like now. Psychic pearls are hard, who knew? ]

Good afternoon, fellow passengers! I am Ingo, and this is Emmet - my brother.

[ So so smooth, it comes so naturally to introduce someone as his family member! ]

We are both from a world with Pokemon originally! We were humans there, and I'm afraid we do not have any idea how this might have happened - this is not the sort of thing that is supposed to be possible! But we would like to offer our help in navigating these new tracks! Between the two of us, we can help to identify your species and typing, as well as other facts about your new forms! We are also both very familiar with Pokemon battling! If you wish to learn to fight, we can provide assistance! I'm very excited to have battles in this new way, and the more people who can participate, the more fun it will be!

If you would like to speak in person, we are both in the Oran Berry Guild!

[ The perspective warps and shifts a bit, as you see Emmet moving forward, and also Emmet's own perspective as he does so. ]

— I am Emmet. What Ingo says is true! Yup! But also, we are willing to come to you if necessary? It would not be a good idea to start a battle near any housing, after all.

[ Emmet, it seems, is a man of much fewer words than his brother! At least when they're in the same space, anyway. His address is also smooth, very smooth, picking up after Ingo's like clockwork.

... for those who have already met them both and / or have heard at least some amount of their circumstances already, isn't there some kind of explanation missing? Oh well, must not be important. ]

(( Responses may come from either or both of them! ))

You are not Gun type and do not learn Gun type moves. [ beat. ] Gun is not a type, for the record.

[ not in Pokemon, anyway!!! but Akechi apparently knew gun type attacks wherever he came from, hence the quip. ]

If you want a typing breakdown. I think we will need a chart. Or someone who can write better. Unless you want to keep track of it all in your head. Maybe later? As for being taught...

Therrrre are. Instructional programs for specific kinds of moves. Taught by a person or by records and videos. That sort of thing. Demonstrate and walk a Pokemon through something it wouldn't learn how to do naturally, not alone, but turns out to be capable of anyway. Useful way of rounding out abilities usually to cover potential weaknesses.

... Probably won't be much in the way of records or videos here but who can say. But tutors exist too. So we can probably learn from each other. For example!

[ first person perspective for all of this means he has to stretch a paw (his left) far enough out in front of him that it's clearly visible through his shared sight, but the end point is that he manages it. what doesn't necessarily come through the connection is the way the shadows around and beneath him warp and twist a little, but the telepathic feed will pick up on the way they rush upward to shroud the outstreched paw, forming themselves into larger, jagged claws around his actual ones, which he'll wave around briefly in demonstration. the phantom Shadow Claw will trail his movements like a dark, spectral afterimage, distorting the air they travel through briefly before he lets the move go, and the shadows slither away or fade back to wherever they were before. ]

Shadow Claw. It is a move accessible to more than just ghosts. Bet you could learn it too.

[That gets him to laugh, a short, sharp sound that might be just a little too loud for the archive he's in. No annoyed 'mon bug him, though. Thank god.]

Damn. Sure wish there were. Maybe I'd have better luck applying my skills to that.

[Ah, Emmet is saying exactly what he was thinking of. Coverage. Always good, and with more straightforward direct counters to specific, er, types here, he gets the idea it'll be even more important.

Man if only countering the Agency's tactics was as easy as rock paper scissors, huh.

He watches Emmet's demonstration of shadow claw intently. When Emmet is done, Doc reaches out and adjusts his grumpearl (hilariously similar to adjusting his webcam, if said webcam was a pain to keep from rolling off flat surfaces), then tries to copy what Emmet did.

Just. Fuck it, we ball. He's so not going to think about the mechanics of it yet, just trust in his instinct for a second.

That is a spark of electricity, but the shadows from the sudden light source seem a little off- and they stay that way for a couple seconds after the spark is gone. Not really moving in any directed way, but they're there.

Doc tries another time to much the same result before he seems to remember something to mention.]

Oh yes, I haven't gone through the entirety of these archives yet. Maybe they've got more detailed records of specific moves. I've been sticking around the obviously open-to-the-public sections for now, though. For obvious reason.

[ in completely even deadpan: ] Maybe you might secretly be a master of Water Gun and Bullet Seed.

Linoone still don't learn those, by the way. Not that I know of, anyway. But their pre-evolution Zigzagoon has rougher fur. Layered in zigzag patterns. They can sort of... harden and fling the quills at other Pokemon to deal damage? And a Linoone who learns how to as Zigzagoon does not forget. Maybe you can figure out how to do that if you are dirrrrely in need of something with range.

[ until he figures out more of the elemental type attacks, anyway. ]

That is a good point about the archives, though. Hmm. I wonder what Lum Berry members might have access to that the public does not...

Crime is always an option.

[............]

That's a joke. For legal reasons.

Anyway, we do have our fellows in the Lum guild. If we need the information, we could solicit their help. Or their vouching for us. Who knows.

[He has no idea how much he can trust them, but such is life when he doesn't have proper connections.]

I wonder if they have more detailed dossiers on specific pokémon varieties. Do pardon me for a bit, I'll see what parts of the archive I haven't yet checked.

[He pushes himself up from the table he's set at, then grabs the book he had and the grumpearl as well. Looks like he's going to check that right now. IRL streamer arc time.]

Oh. Of course it was a joke. Because if it wasn't then I did not hear anything. And I am definitely not encouraging any rule breaking.

[ Especially not over a public network maintained by those who have so generously taken them in. That does raise the question of who exactly enforces the rules here, though... presumably the guild masters will discipline within themselves and hold their members to some basic standard of behavior, maybe?

(Oh. But that sounds like it might get messy if one guild thinks another isn't being strict enough... Oh dear. Well, that hopefully won't ever be a problem, right?)

Anyway there goes Doc on his streamer arc, 'come with me to the library!' style. It's verrrry interesting, the glimpses he catches of some of the ways the Pokemon here have developed to archive information. Etchings in stone records along the shelves- that's neat! That's interesting! An excellent combination of different abilities and teamwork between the claws used to write with and the fire presumably used to set the- clay, maybe?

He's not sure if Doc realizes he still has the connection open but eventually he does pipe up: ]

How much of the archives have you already gone through exactly.

Enough to say that these guys really need to get a server room up and running.

Anyway, I've read up on the general idea of pokémon and some of the pokémon species they got on record. Which is a whole lot. Some thousand entries up here, huh. Point is, don't ask me for specifics on pokémon we haven't met in person, I'm working on it.

[He gestures to an aisle that is off-'camera'.]

There's old guild records. Skimmed those too. Wanted to get a feel for how they operate, but don't ask me for details.

[Another gesture in a different direction.]

There's maps as well. I should recommend everyone here study those, actually. Get an idea of what this place is like. I'll need to go back over those, too. Figure out what other regions are like. Or cities. Or whatever.

I am Emmet. I do not think I have seen any electronics here. Even if it would be convenient.

I also do not think many of us are of the correct models to be handling more delicate things. Like circuit boards. Or cable management. Which is unfortunate. I know I definitely would not trust myself with even just changing the battery on an Xtransciever right now.

[ Well articulated limbs with a reasonable amount of dexterity, let alone proper hands seem to be at a premium among this current bunch. ]

The maps, though. Hmmm. Other cities and places here. Yes! That sounds like a worthwhile track to follow.

If they've got psychic powers, surely someone can teach me to handle computer hardware with my mind.

[Aaaand he's actually considering it. Well, mostly as a joke. His musings on the idea of using grumpearl-like technology as a base for building some 'electronic' device of whatever variety is not a joke, though.]

Whatever. Let's see about those, then.

[Streamer arc continues. The grumpearl link view changes very strangely, like visually seeing someone's attention focus on different things at once- probably because that's exactly what is happening. After a second of that, the view settles on one over Doc's shoulder, though. He's looking through the maps the archives have available.]

...All of these are of the city. I don't even know if there's anything more than five miles out.

[He adjusts a bit so the viewport he's got actually can see the map he's looking through better.]

I don't know that the Pokemon around here know what computers are yet.

[ someone... someone out there has yet to invent the concept of a microprocessor... or maybe Pokemon just don't have access to such things. who can say. it is a little dizzying maybe to keep up with the split views, but the link holds steady.

that said, oh. that... sure is a map they are both looking at. bay. canopy. wilderness. very informative. ]

But there is nothing? Really? This place really must not have much contact with anywhere else, then...

[ which, hm. hmmm. what does that mean? do they even know what the outside world looks like, other than that humans do indeed exist and in a negative context at that, enough for the locals to be wary of them? are there other settlements of displaced Pokemon? the city doesn't look that new, they seem somewhat reasonably established... Cheri's supposed to be the guild responsible for scouting, right?

all of this is supposed to be internal thought process, but some of the bits toward the end might leak through. ]
