[This is a bit of a struggle, but Firepaw is doing his best. A very under-sized Litten is trying to put himself in frame, but he's a little awkwardly close.]
Um... hello. Can everyone hear me? My name is Firepaw, I'm- I was an apprentice of ThunderClan. Oh- and I used to be a cat, before I came here. A lot of you know me already, but... yes.
[Just going by his voice, it's pretty clear he's a kitten. Public speaking feels incredibly bad, even without a visible crowd.]
A few of you Twolegs - humans - have four legs now, and I wanted to offer help with getting used to that. I can teach you how to hunt and fight, or at least step lightly. I don't know much about our new powers, but we might be able to practice those together too. I can also help with learning different scents, since I think humans can't smell as well as cats, or... Pokemon. That might make gathering herbs and berries easier, too.
[One more thing which... feels like blasphemy for a cat, but he needs to do it.]
And... if anyone knows how to swim, I think I'd like to learn. If another storm comes with new folk, I want to be able to help them get to shore.

[aaaaaahhhh] But...
....I did read about how jaguars and tigers swim at least. So...I could maybe pass that on? You look more like a tabby cat, from what I can feel from the pearl, but it shouldn't be that different I think. I mean...tigers and jaguars are just really big cats in the end.

[The talk of tigers makes his ears perk up.]
I don't know what a jaguar is, but I've heard of tigers. My Clan's elders told me that we cats are descended from lions and tigers - I think you're right, learning more about them might be helpful.
CW: Jaguar hunting practice, also sCREAMS DW ATE MY TAG NOOOO
But the sea is another story. ...to be fair I don't think anything that doesn't live in there can handle that much salt though.
[Ahem. Back on track now- apologies Firepaw, for the MASSIVE PHYLOGENIC TREE ATTACKING YOUR SKULL] Oh- a Jaguar is another 'big cat', like the lion and tiger! It's not as big as those two, but it's really muscular, enough that it normally bites through skulls to get its prey!
...Though...I don't know if 'descended' is quite right...you're more like cousins? Cats and 'Big Cats' come from the same common ancestor. So, you descended from something like a tiger...but where the big cats grew in places where it made more sense to be, well, 'big', it worked out better for cats like your clan's to be...well, small.
At least if what you think of as cats and tigers are the same as what I think of, I'm assuming 'two-legs' means 'human' here...
[There's a brief spin-out of thoughts. Humans? Other bipeds???
BEHOLD A MAN.]
Uh.
[Cough.] L-Let me get back on track...
The point is, even if you're 'cousins', it won't mean you can't swim. I mean...there are plenty of domestic and wild cats that swim too; there's a reason cats are still known for enjoying fish! It's probably going to be a matter of getting used to just being wet, really.
oh nooooo im so sorry
They sound like leopards - that's another ancient cat I've heard stories about. But I thought they didn't exist anymore.
[He sends over a mental image of the RiverClan cats - sleek, muscular, and only ever seen from across the giant river. He hasn't been to a Gathering yet, so he hasn't met any of the other Clans up close.]
RiverClan cats can swim, I know that much. They lived on an island in a river, and hunt fish all day. So it must not be that difficult, if I put my mind to it.

Depending on where you are though...
[Images- pictures, genuinely, because he only ever saw these in books after all- come along. Savannahs, jungles...]
...The 'big cats' mostly live outside of the north american continent. The biggest wild cat there would be the cougar for the most part, and...
...well, technically it's not a 'Big cat'. If there's any wild cat in north america that cats could call a 'sibling', it's that one- it can still purr.
True big cats- Leopards, Jaguars, Tigers, Lions... ...They can't do that. They can roar, but they can't purr.
Anyway- [So many cats...] Definitely start small. Like...maybe a small pond? Or even just getting used to the water in a bath, maybe.
...if I think about it, one of my guildmates is big enough that you probably could use certain bathtubs.
no subject
Um... I don't know what a bathtub is. [He doesn't know a lot of the words Emporio just used, but that feels like the best word to latch onto.] I mean- I know what a bath is. At least, what I would call a bath, which is grooming yourself with your tongue.
[Lucky Firepaw, his owners never had to bathe him. He has seen a tub before, he just doesn't know the name.]
no subject
...Right, that makes sense. ...Admittedly, I only read about baths. I never got one myself...I had to take showers.
[Sparingly. Occasionally. There are two mental images- one is a very dark, very anxiety filled trip to the prison showers.
The other just involves the equivalent of standing in the rain, thank goodness for Weather Report really, what would he do without the man.]
A bath is what humans often use to get clean...but they also use it to relax. It's a basin of water- normally hot water, though.
no subject
I don't think I would mind hot water. [Lies.] I think I know what you're talking about. I think my housefolk had one.
[He sends a mental image of the bathroom in his old house, from the perspective of a small kitten. It's small, although it felt very big to Firepaw, and if Emporio knows much about outlets he might notice Firepaw's from England.]
no subject
IT'S WORSE!
But don't worry about that for now.]
Mn! Yeah, that's a bathtub... ...Oh!
Oh!!!
Oh wow you definitely wouldn't have ever seen big cats...I think I know where you lived, that's an island! I mean, one big enough to be a country obviously, but it's still an island- other than anyone your size. Er.
Maybe your old size? I don't actually know how big we are comparitively... [He's trying not to send a bleed of his entire conversation about that, which, ironically was with another cat-like pokemon.
But the point is, it's hard to guess measurements when everything and everyone are so varied in size.] That's neat though..! Huh.
...Anyway, even if you don't think you would mind, you still want to get used to it gradually...especially since you'd have to eventually make it cold anyway, otherwise you wouldn't be able to adjust to swimming in an actual river or similar.

[Everything about Twolegs exists at an incomprehensible scale. Even the Twolegplace he comes from seemed to stretch on forever, but it wasn't as busy as the cities Shoka described to him.]
no subject
[Behold....a globe...]
If it helps a little...human definitions can be a little hazy. The only reason something is an island is because there's water on all sides...but technically, that would be everything else on the planet if humans didn't decide to call it something else.
[The mental image of the globle lights up at spots, but really what's important is the sound of cubone giggles.]
In your case though, I think someone could drive across that place in a day with focus so...I'd probably still call it an island at least.
[Australia is on thin frickin' ice though.]
Maybe you'll get to see an island here one day?
no subject
That's... uh.... a lot.
[He starts grooming his face, because he kind of wants to hold his head.]
I would like to see an island. Um... one that's small enough for me to see the whole thing.
no subject
[He sounds a little more wistful now. Sad, perhaps.] ...I always wondered what most of the world would look like outside of a book. Even just seeing the world here has been amazing so far!
[Don't worry about what that means.]
We'll have to see if we can get the chance. At least this way I can show pictures?
...it wouldn't be the same but it's something.
no subject
I... I think I need a break from the pictures. I feel a little dizzy. But hopefully we can find one in person, if we explore around here.
no subject
R-right...
...I guess these things are pretty overwhelming, especially when the information is new...
[He's consciously trying as hard as possible to Not Send Images along now.]
...Mmn. There's a big map in the Archives, but it doesn't have a whole lot on it...the bay is noted, but everything else is sort of...vague wilderness.
There's bound to be something out there though.
no subject
Maybe no one else has explored that far. We might be able to help them figure out what's out there.
[That sounds like a fun adventure!]
no subject
[Well, the map speaks for itself he thinks.]
It's nice to have the chance at least.
no subject
[Just like every Clan kitten, Firepaw has a biological need to roam and adventure in dangerous areas. This is exactly why the older cats age so fast.]
no subject
...I mean statistically it looks like Lum is pretty small, so it makes sense to partner up...
[He's down!
ah, but-]
...We should probably make sure someone more experienced is with us if we do anything together though.
[Bring an Adult!]
no subject
[Some apprentices are more eager to explore without a guide, but Firepaw is much more cautious. Bringing an adult is a great idea.]
no subject
Oh- and I'll check the missions board for any postings; if it's an official exploration, there should be more to work with so that we don't get in any trouble.
