[Today, Akechi presents a rather peculiar object to the Pearls: a smartphone, circa 2016. Certainly state of the art, by Bottlecap Bay standards, but more importantly is the music playing from its speakers.

I'm not entirely sure how, but it seems I've been reunited with one of my belongings from home.

[He shuffles around the phone, brushing off some glitter.]

It took some doing to operate it in my current state, and I'm not certain how I'll keep it charged. If any electric types wish to volunteer their services, I would greatly appreciate it.

In turn, it may be possible to use my phone to better record data and take photographs on missions. I will have to be careful with it, of course. It may have a shockproof case and screen protector, but it is hardly invincible.

Still... If anyone else received technology, perhaps we can pool resources. This has a great deal of potential.

It seems pretty lightweight! That must be convenient out in the field. It's like it's in compact compact form!

But, yes. It's very lightweight, with faster processing power than older models of cell phones. Its built in camera may come in handy during field missions as well.

It's all touch screen-based, but there are apps for general note taking as well as word processing. A bit more difficult to navigate with wings and talons, but I'm adapting as well as I can.

[His practice manipulating his individual wing feathers certainly hasn't hurt. They're softer than his talons and beak, even if he has a screen protector.]

As for photographs, the statue in the Heavy Downmoor shrine intrigues me. Its appearance varies based on personal perception, but a photograph may be more objective.

It would seem that people will see some form of legendary Pokémon, but its precise appearance remains inconsistent. Some may see one set of traits, such as something more metallic, while another may see something more organic and equine...

I'd need to gather a wider pool of subjects to gain a clearer idea, however, as I only traveled there with two other people.

Legendary, you say… Like the figures of our mythology? [She's thinking of Kinnara, but that only matches organic and equine, really… Something more knightly might be metallic?]

That makes sense. Maybe then it would be possible to tell if there's a pattern. How difficult is it to go there?

I would say they're comparable, based on what Emmet-san and Ingo-san have told me. The difference is that they're indisputably real, tangible forces, rather than left to the nebulous debates of science versus religion.

[Heh. Granted, "gods" have existed in his reality, but the power of cognition is largely to blame.]

Similar in some respects, different in others. As I understand it, humans and Pokémon work side by side as partners.

[A far cry from a city of Pokémon who fled humanity... But the familiarity is still useful, either way.]

As for the Legendary Pokémon, I imagine they still keep their distance, or we would have seen them already.

No, I’m sure they wouldn’t have made it easy. [But in theory-!] Have they appeared in the past, then? How do other Pokémon know of them?

It's interesting. The Archives have very... vague accounts. Mere concepts, such as the "Wish Pokémon" or nebulous accounts of titans.

By comparison, Emmet-san and Ingo-san have considerably more knowledge.
