Video (After Dec. 22)
[ It's a Longest Night/Shortest Day/Yule miracle, Dolly is finally using the Grumpearl after her less than savory experiences with it prior! Either that or Dolly is the kind to watch and learn from others before attempting a proper Grumpearl video on her own that wasn't broadcasting an entire broadway production like before. ]
[ Dolly seems pretty excited though as she appears on the Grumpearl as she brings up this glitter covered, ornate looking brass object as she holds it up by its red cords. ]
My astrolabe just appeared next to me this morning! I don't know how or even why it got smaller, but I'm thrilled! Who wants to test run it for the next Stargazing Club meeting?
[ There's a pause as a stream of glitter comes pouring out from the astrolabe...yeah that glitter is insidious...so much glitter...is this even safe to be this glittery? Dolly looked pretty concerned by the sudden glitter down pour! It would put a preteen accessory shop to shame right now with all that shimmer. ]
Got any tips on how to remove the glitter? As much as I'd like to take a shine to the new look, I think I'd like the glitter to come off.

Same when I ended up getting the ghost treatment back in October, couldn't brush out my fur till it passed. Then the winter coat came in with a vengeance the moment I stopped being a ghost type. [ Dolly goes to start gently brushing Rigby's fur, she has gotten incredibly good with the ribbon feelers. ] Being a ghost for a few days was interesting.
no subject
Oh, you came down with that too, huh? [ As if a Ghost-typing is some sort of illness. His nose scrunches a bit at the thought. ] I don't think Morpekos have much of a winter coat to begin with. Not sure if I should be glad or not, with how the weather is here.
[ As much as he doesn't miss shedding, his real fur was far better at handling the drop in temperature. ]
And I realized my autocorrect attacked there :x We'll have to get a Mordecai soon
I sure did, though I was the lucky one. Odile, who was on the same quest as me, ended up getting exploded by the Gourgeists and Pumpkaboos. She was in the clinic for a while. [ Dolly was in a weird spot with being a temporary ghost type. Upside, floating around was fun and great puns were had. Downside, she levitated during sleep. ] Neither did I, I honestly thought my coat would've stayed the same, but alas, fluff town happened for winter.
[ Apparently Sylveon's coat was in fact similar to Dolly's own fur but less water resistant... ]

Funny how that works. At least we know what to expect. Can't say the same for basically everyone else.
[ He knows they're not the only former non-humans, but their numbers are pretty small to begin with. ]
no subject
Exactly, like we both know we'll bounce back perfectly alright afterwards. I'm just glad that Odile was able to recover afterwards.
[ Same with Dolly, she was relieved to have encountered some that weren't human before either. Though, it truly was a small few of them compared to the former human population here. ]
I think it'll be a few more brushes before the glitter is mostly out.
no subject
[ Maybe that's a little better. He motions toward the astrolabe with a tilt of his head. ]
Mind if I take a look at that? I'll, uh. Be gentle.

[ Placing the brush down, Dolly goes to retrieve the astrolabe for Bigby. Knowing Dolly, she'll be fully opened to letting Bigby give a nickname to the Astrolabe if it makes it easier. ]
Sure thing, it's pretty sturdy, just has a lot of little crevices that are proving to be excellent little glitter holders.

... How delicate is this thing exactly?
no subject
Oh not too delicate despite how it appears. It's pretty well built and been through the ringing a good couple of times when navigating or making star charts beforehand.
no subject
Alright, let's see...
[ He angles the astrolabe in front of him, eyeing one crevice first. Then, after a careful breath in, he huffs out a sharp burst of air, almost in a low whistle. Glitter sputters out in response, some of it right onto his face. His nose scrunches. ]
Well, that's some of it.
no subject
Thank you, I'm sorry about the blow back though from the astrolabe. That glitter is insidious.
[ True to word, that astrolabe is a sturdy thing for sure. Whoever made it clearly had the good train of thought to make sure this thing lasts. ]

[ He wipes some of said glitter off his cheek. Tries to, anyway, because most of it gets stuck on his paw instead. Why does he even bother. ]
I don't think I even got most of it out.
[ At least he didn't break the damn thing while he was at it, so that's a plus. ]

Glitter seriously is an insidious thing in pretty coverings. I'll help you get it off the face and paws, SINTO really went wild with the glitter..
[ Oh right...why didn't Dolly think of this earlier to make it easier...though the crevices will still be a pill and a half to deal with. ]
Hang on for one moment, I'll get the disks out to see if that helps better. There's still some crevices in there, but it should make it less of task to deal with.
no subject
Probably should've just angled it better. [ With a small huff, he gets up to grab the brush himself. ] I got it this time. You just... keep doing that.
[ He glances over at her while she disassembles. Honestly, he has no clue how that thing works, but at least he can brush out his fur in the meantime. ]
no subject
Here we go, that should do the trick.
[ Dolly goes to show Bigby the interior of the astrolabe now that it's been disassembled. There's even markings on the inside of this thing...astrolabes be wilding..]
good to wrap? c:
One last try. [ This time, he huffs a bit harder, letting out a strong puff of air. That's... definitely a cloud of glitter. ] Different angle didn't help.
[ He's made a mess, mostly all over himself. Of course. ]
Uh. Let me at least help you clean up, before... starting all over. [ A pathetic glance at the brush. At least all his static makes glitter dust collecting easy. ] Maybe you can tell me what this thing actually does too.
This is perfect to wrap X3 I'll wrap with this on my end :'>
[ Dolly perks up though, ignoring the glittery mess and is thrilled to explain about the astrolabe. ]
Sure, I can tell you how the astrolabe works.
[ Off goes Dolly in teaching mode on how the ancient analog computer works and how it works...there are so many features on this thing...so many features...Upside it's gonna be handy for quests or travels. ]
