Video;
[Akechi addresses the Pearl with his usual calm and poise, disregarding the cloak draped around him. Pay it no mind.]
In light of recent events, I felt it best to inform you all about Umbreon-san. Having spoken to Mightyena-san recently, she informed me that he mapped out the cave system in which we Oran Berries dwell. He actively trains lower ranked members and has played a pivotal part in Pokémon swarms. Evidently, he was an active player in the ordeals with Dondozo and Spiritomb, providing rescue to those in need...
And he volunteered for the good of his guild, not himself.
[He pauses to let that sink in, though his thoughts ripple with an odd air of relief and an undercurrent of distrust toward politicians on the whole.]
Make what you will of that, but I believe that this places him in a position where he could make a fine leader. I've made my vote, but I bear no ill will toward those who favor other candidates.
[...]
That being said, I do believe it may be in our best interest to share our findings amongst each other regarding the recent Wayfinding missions. The lands beyond Death Blood Murder Skull Town are wild, unpredictable, and full of mysteries...
For instance, the temple in the peaks of Heavy Downmoor suggests the area was once far more populated despite the wild winds. I'm quite curious how the rest of the region compares...

[Though Akechi feels that uneasy, he remains calm. He will not succumb to guilt for a vote he's satisfied with.]
Personally, I had far too many reservations with the other candidates, so I chose the one I had the most faith in. Obviously, it wasn't a foolproof vote.
Really, all we can do is hope the outcome doesn't lead to complications, regardless of who wins.

[emporio why are you thinking of malamar
why are you thinking of malamar sucker punching froslass
EMPORIO]
...I guess that's true. Whoever wins, will win...
I think I can understand the issues with Oricorio, [Sorry buddy] but what was wrong with the others?

[Ergo, Malamar is not on his list. Plain and simple. It just doesn't sit well with him, given what he's experienced with the likes of Shido and Maruki.]
The Grumpig Brothers... well, they're already preoccupied with the network, so I have to question if they'd have time for additional responsibilities. As for Lurantis, my primary concern are the rumors of her contrary nature. If I had to choose a second choice, it would likely be her, but I am skeptical of politicians and so I prefer not to take her words at face value.

[It helps that Emporio was never on the other end of that. He really can't judge without knowing.
Anyway.] ...Oh...I was wondering about the Contrary thing...
...I went with Malamar because of my experience with, uh. Froslass, but Lurantis would have been my second...
...I sort of thought Contrary was just her ability. We all have something like that, according to the Archives at least, so-
[hold on a thought just caught up to him.]
....Isn't...Umbreon just as much of one as everyone else in the running...
[Was anyone here a politician in the first place???]

[It's decidedly the opposite of selfish motivation. One might even argue it's sacrificial.]
Such dedication struck me as more genuine and, therefore, more trustworthy. This rings particularly true after speaking to some of the people who were influenced by Malamar's abilities.
umbreons sigh of relief with those results tho omg
I thought we agreed he got 'voluntold'...
[But, he's not here to change minds he supposes.]
I didn't even realize Malamar had done anything, honestly. I guess we'll see who wins?
YEAH...
[He shrugs. Clearly they won't agree on the matter.]
But, yes. Ultimately, we cannot control the results. We can only wait.
