video, mid-october
Is this thing — how does —
[ Let there be video of one sorry looking rat holding his pearl as far away from himself as possible. Somehow, he looks even more disheveled than usual, with eyebags practically to the floor.
Those who recognize him might also notice his fur is looking extra wispy today. Perhaps even a bit see-through? That’s different, isn’t it? ]
Okay. Okay. Does... does anyone know Sleep Powder? [ There’s some unbecoming desperation in his voice. He’s just asking for a friend here. ] Yawn, maybe? Or — fuck, what — Spore?
[ Anyone with a keen-eye will likely note that he’s also not at the Spire, but the Archives. Lum Berries are more than welcome to bump into (pass through?) their new rodent problem if they so wish. ]
And no, a punch to the head won’t work.
[ Ghosts are immune to Fighting-type moves, as it turns out. ]

But of course, the first thing he sees in his own crystal ball- er, pearl, is the face of the rodent who helped him when he first got here, looking absolutely terrible, and the surge of guilt he felt at the end of their quest returns. Yes, this at least confirms that Bigby's not dead like he originally feared, but he was also hoping next time he saw him he would be... more opaque.]
Bigby, I am so sorry I led you astray with those pesky ghosts. Oh, if I only had my wand, then I could give a slumber spell for your insomnia.
(1/2)
[ Something about hearing the other’s voice... His fur, wispy and translucent, suddenly begins to bristle. As his face turns a deathly pale, the image on the pearl begins to blur, until he’s almost too hard to make out on the other end.
There’s no sound, but through the static, a pair of eyes stare back, blood red and locked right on Cedric’s. ]

It’s... you’re fine. I shouldn’t have assumed. [ You know what they say. ] I don’t even know how magic would work around here anyway.
[ They should not be talking about that so brazenly on an open network, but whatever. He’s too tired to be a rule enforcer. ]

With a fine wand and the correct incantation, I suspect it would work about the same. There are potions, after all, and they serve the same purpose as what I know. [For the most part - no one's provided an ingredients list yet, but he'll find a way...]

[ He's a sorcerer, not a witch, Bigby. ]
no subject
[He frowns as he realises how pedantic that sounds.]
Well, it doesn't matter, since I'll never see them while I'm stuck here anyway.
no subject
[ Bigby is trying so hard to pay attention to all this magic talk. ]
... Yeah, not going to have much luck with finding replacements here either. There's not even books. [ A beat. Where is he again. ] I mean, there's tablets. But good fucking luck finding anything useful in those.
no subject
Well, until that next part anyway.] No books? Just useless tablets? ...Wait, what are tablets?
Then what about the archives? I thought we had those.

[ He's literally at the Archives. Give him a second to find one low enough to pull from a shelf. It's nearly as tall as he is, but that's not the point. ]
These fucking things. And they don't even organize them.
no subject
Ridiculous. How are we supposed to get information if the archives aren't sorted? And if what you say is true, they barely even have information. Does no one tend to this place?
no subject
[ He's had this same rant since day one, Cedric. At least it seems to be giving him back some energy. ]
But don't worry! There's also the special collections full of information that we can't access for whatever reason!
[ Someone's probably telling him to be quiet in the background at this point, not that he's paying them any mind. ]
no subject
To Cedric, this only leaves one question.]
Then who can access them?
no subject
[ That comes out as a deeply unnerving growl thanks to his current typing. The shushing just gets louder. ]
... I don't know. [ He slumps, deflating all over again. ] Just Polteigeist? No one's ever mentioned actually seeing them.
[ All this talk about Ribombee when the real problem might be another ghost. ]

But, in the meantime, I'll see about this, uh... "Sleep Powder" you asked for. Surely there's something or someone around here that can help you shake this off.
[Unless... Bigby can be abrasive, but...] Or, if you'd rather the company, I can meet you somewhere.
no subject
What like a [ hangout ] pharmacy or something? I mean, sure, if you're not busy. Would be easier to ask around with two of us. [ A beat. ] I could meet you in town? Maybe at the questboard?
[ The inevitable hangout in question. ]
I freaking lol'd at that reference
Questboard will do. If I don't spot you due to your... transparency, just call out and I'll follow your voice.
just two little guys made for 90s television.....also i'm good to either wrap here or keep going! c:
[ Now to figure out the maze that is the Archives. ]
Anyway, sounds like a plan. I'll try not to fade away before I even get there. [ A quiet yawn, followed by an ear flick. ] ... Thanks, Cedric.
Let's wrap here! They can go around pestering Pokes until they find a status item XD
[Insomnia ability, gotta love it.]
...And you're welcome, Bigby. It's the least I can do.
