Saying he's not, but fired up enough to make such an exclamation as if trying to push it away. And she can't tell if he's lying or not, she doesn't know him that well, but still.

[ The Yamask who'd arrived recently is— quiet, generally. They don't much use the pearls (perhaps funnily enough to those who might be aware of certain circumstances pertaining to them). They don't much reach out across the mental links. They keep aware of it just enough to keep themselves informed, and little more. It's too intimate a method of communication to be engaging in with complete strangers. All those feelings and sentiments on clear display, it's far too known.

And yet, here they are.

Muted, dulled, and distinctly distant from oneself, there is regardless a sense of cottony amusement that smothers the flicker of something else beneath it when their voice filters through, a soft laugh at first before actual words take form. ]
