[Distantly, one might actually make out the sounds of the Espartha cursing. Anyone who actually knows the bird can tell that he's upset.

...I'd say I'd hope he can get some rest for a bit now, but after what happened to A.B.A...

Y....yeah.

[It's a stillness that is mirrored, even if the sensation isn't so jarring coming from Emporio. It doesn't help that he's actually at the clinic now, right near the litten's comatose form. There's no escaping it.

He can't avoid what it means.]

I... ...I'll be ok. In a bit, I guess. It helps that he's still...here, but it's hard not to get lost in the worry.

[Dr. Denne was quite kind about letting him know when he'd just dropped in to see what Anasui was up to on his own shift. Even kinder to let him join Anasui's shift in return for leaving at an earlier hour.

It might, in hindsight, be so that Dr. Denne doesn't have to worry about dismantled beds again.]

I guess in a way I'm doing both.

[ That loop line thought ... Emmet just watches it from a careful mental distance before doing what he can to slow its progress. He is not the one in control of it, but he can at least try not to feed it too much. ]

[ Regardless of whether or not Emporio intended to inform him of his preferences or not (and intended that as a dismissal instead), Emmet does show up at the clinic later bearing ... some sort of hearty root vegetable stew in a takeout container and a couple of berry pastries, not too sweet. It takes some careful maneuvering, but it gets managed, one way or another.
