[Following a successful but taxing bounty quest, Shoka has been stuck in the Pokéclinic since the 15th—and judging by the way the clinic Pokémon look at her and the way her stupid, freak body keeps telling her it's somehow still on fire, even when it totally isn't, she's going to be stuck there for some time. She can still walk, kind of, and it doesn't hurt all the time, so if anyone were to ask her, she'd tell them that this amount of caution is entirely unnecessary... But no one did ask her.

The Grumpearl message comes in darkness; no visuals or even true audio—just pure thought:]

This bites. I wanna go to the festival!

Maybe I can sneak out...?

[This is almost definitely the Grumpearl version of a butt-dial. In Shoka's case, it's more of a head-dial, considering that her pearl is still stowed away inside the hollow of her disguise's false Pikachu head.]

[By now, Shoka's noticed that her thoughts have been broadcasted to the entire Bay... but there's still a good few seconds' worth of internal, frustrated screaming audible in Flowey's mind before she speaks with her actual voice.]

Oh, wow. How long did it take you to come up with that one?

Aww, isn't it obvious? I put loads of thought and care into my insults!

[He's as sarcastic as he can manage-- but the downside of being connected by Grumpearl is that Shoka can feel his concern once he learns she's in the hospital. He immediately stomps it down like an insect.] Say, what are you in for? Seeing if they'll put you down?

[The loads of thought part, that is... Even if she does have to admit that Suckarane is pretty strong, genuinely.

Ugh, and he heard she was in the hospital, too, didn't he? There's a ripple of embarrassment (she was trying not to make a big deal out of it) before she replies:]

And give your job to a bunch of randos? I would never.

Why do you ask? Aw, are you worried about me or something?

Ha, you wish! [He wishes, too-- that would mean he can care. What he feels about Shoka isn't really attachment, it's more... like she's a new party member he wants to try messing with. He knows he shouldn't think about people like that, anymore, but it's the only way he can rationalize things.] I already said that if you went and died, I'd drag you back just so I could kill you myself.

[Bold words from him, though. Shoka may have heard that Flowey was meant to stay in the hospital to rest after his encounter with Dondozo, but he threw a fit politely insisted on returning to his own dorm. Since then, in between sleeping for days at a time, he's been trying to continue on like nothing happened. ... And if she hasn't heard that, there was the memory, fresh in his mind.]

Anyway, the festival sucked. You're not missing anything.

[She heard (and also could have extrapolated herself based on the state of Siffrin). There is something close to concern creeping in the back of her mind, though she isn't surprised and she chooses not to get on his case about it—for now, at least.]

Oh, really? And what exactly sucked about it, Mr. Festival Expert?

[Several thoughts enter his mind: upsetting Firepaw; the familiar rush of shame, being a disappointment, being a soulless idiot who hurts everyone he comes in contact with; running away as Firepaw throws his present on the ground.]

Nothing! Whoops, I must be going though a tunnel or something, losing connection haha see ya!!

[He hangs up quickly.]
