[It's finally a sunny, warm day, hot but not terribly humid, and perfect for laying out bolts of felt to dry after May's deluge of rain. Or, well, to let them dry after being cleaned to ensure there's no mold or mildew or anything gross trying to grow on the fabric Firoza has worked so hard to make. And as she sits in the middle of this fabric drying in the sun, her mind wanders towards her efforts with Laios and Emmett to locate a missing Pokemon. The eerie feeling, the thought that came unbidden, the state that Zweilous was found in...

She has to talk about this. She has to express this. And when she comes in over the Grumpearls, you can get that sense of concern and confusion settling around her, making the sunny day a bit dimmer as a result.]

I don't recall Zweilous having gone missing before our arrival here. Has this Pokemon wandered off before?

[She hums, little Nidoran brow furrowed. It's important to note that she's finally started to keep her bandana pulled down again, and her right cheek (her right) has a wispy scar trailing across it, like tendrils of flame licking out. It's all healed, it doesn't look grotesque, but wow it sure is there!]

There's just...a feeling I had. "No, no, not again"...and I couldn't shake how familiar it was, to know you are missing a name and face, but you cannot put it together. Though how it can be familiar I'm not sure...

[Tap tap tap goes a paw, impatient as she thinks.]

Have any of you felt something similar, from a mission? Or am I overthinking this?

Apologies. There are too many questions, and not enough answers. [And no one she knows from home who is good with divining answers from the facts...not that she doubts any of her new friends here, but. If the other Scions were present, surely they could all make more headway into this mystery.] But...mm. If it was a conscious thought from the Pokemon you were trying to rescue...could the natives here have doubts about themselves they don't speak of? Or if it's unconscious, they're simply not aware?

Phantump also could not be roused. They are not known to be a species that has any particular affinity with dreams, so I do not think it would be a conscious, intentional thought ...

[ Though ... Sleep Talk is always a thing. Pretty much any Pokemon could learn to do that one, it is easier to list out the few that don't than the ones that do...

(Sleep and dreams... hmm.) ]

But why would the natives here have reason to doubt their identities?

[Firoza shakes her head.] That I couldn't say. There might be things they keep private. Or things even they've forgotten, living here as they have. Or a past, as a community, they don't have the complete story of, for various reasons. It's...again, too many questions, too few answers. And these are not the kind of things that I could really provide answers for on my own.

Mmm. Forgetting the small things. Because you are far from them, or were too young to remember them before you left them behind. [ or because it might hurt to remember what you lost, or, or, or... ] That is one thing.

But it is still quite a jump to go from there to thinking you might be a different person than you are.

... I wonder what their dreams are like. If they are sleeping this deeply.

Is there a way to know? Pokemon can do a great many things...is seeing dreams something they can do?

[She just finds herself curious, is all - and is expecting to hear it's impossible.]

Oh. Yep, probably. Mind reading, emotion sensing, and dream manipulation or consumption are skills innate to several lines. Usually psychic and ghost types. Sometimes certain fighting types too.

Munna and Musharna are the ones I am most aware of. They eat dreams. Musharna can then recreate things from the dreams they've eaten with their mist ... though if they've eaten a nightmare recently you probably would not want them to.

Interesting...I would be willing to confront a nightmare. 'Twould be no different than having mine own.

Do we know if there are any Musharna amongst the native population, or as part of our group?

No. As in, none of us are, I mean. Hmm. I have not met any Munna or Musharna among the native population yet, but it is not as if I've met everyone here either.

Munna and Musharna look like this, though. Musharna is often drowsing and can be surrounded by mist, though the colors will be different depending on what kinds of dreams they've been eating recently.

Yep! Unless they are shiny. Then they might be a different color. But that is verrrry rare.

[Usually something that was shiny was just its own color. Like, you could get a metallic dye and then your clothes or armor would be shiny.]

Hmm. Most Pokemon of a given species will be pretty much the same color?

But very rarely. You will get ones who aren't. Those are generally called shinies. [ Or if you talk to someone more old school about it, maybe "Shining Pokemon". ] They are called that because they will also often ... glimmer, a little. Under the right circumstances.

Ooh! Incredible...so it's just a special coloration! You see that in some creatures in the wild where I am from, too. But they don't glimmer.
