[The feed opens with a close shot of a very red snout sniffing the Grumpearl, accompanied by warm, curious thoughts.

Judging by his wooden surroundings, he's somewhere among the Cheri Berries.

When he pulls back, he reveals himself as... a Charmeleon, with three spiky scales on each of his cheeks and a big, goofy smile.]

Hmm.

[Guilmon taps the pearl with one of his claws.]

It's shiny... Oh! But Guilmon's supposed to talk. Or think? ...Think about talking? Wah...

[He tilts his head, trying to figure out what to say.

Guilmon isn't small anymore. I think I evolved... That's okay, though. Guilmon's evolved lots of times, and now Guilmon has longer arms and legs and is almost Guilmon-shaped.

[And by Guilmon-shaped, he means... well, a a bipedal red dinosaur with black markings, a white belly, and wing-like ears.

The image accompanying his thoughts starts eating bread. Mountains of bread.]

But now Guilmon's tail is on fire... There's lots of wood here. That seems dangerous, but Ribombee said it's okay for Guilmon to be here. Maybe I can use it to make bread.

[He turns around and looks at his tail.]

Oh! But Guilmon will also work hard! Those quests look important, and there's lots of weird mushrooms now. Maybe Guilmon can burn those, too...

It requires so much more care! At least, it certainly seems that way to me...though I suppose this is only my first time being without hands.

Hmm... I guess you don't have to worry about big claws, though. That might make picking up small things easier...

[offtracks]

No, they are fairly short! And I am not one of those Pokemon whose claws continue growing rapidly!

[Scratching them down makes such an awful sound, he's grateful!]

[guilmon]

Claws like that sound really weird... You'd have to keep using rocks or trees to keep them short!

[He stares down at his own claws now. Are they gonna be like that, too?]

Some Pokemon have teeth like that! They must gnaw regularly to keep them down! It's most common in rodent-like Pokemon, which are largely small normal-types, but it's also true of Rapidash and Copperajah!

[nevermind him, he just likes this stuff]

[guilmon]

Copperajah... So is it made of metal, or is it a cop?

[Police exist! There could be police Pokémon, but copper is also a metal.

Quite the conundrum.]

[offtracks]

A cop?

[Ingo has no idea what that is! But it's presumably not the case anyhow.]

No, they are made of metal! Steel types!

[guilmon]

Cops... arrest people. And do law stuff.

[That's what he knows. There's probably more to it than that, but Guilmon is a simple fellow.]

But metal makes sense... maybe. But if they're copper, why are they steel type?

[offtracks]

Oh...like a guard?

[He's not sure about arrests, really, but laws, sure!]

Steel is just the name of the type! It covers all metallic Pokemon! I do imagine steel is the most common metal to be found in their makeup, but it's certainly not the only one!

[guilmon]

Kind of... But they don't have armor like knights do.

[This feels like an important distinction, but that's because he's had armor. And been a knight.]

Mmmm.... but why do they call it Steel type and not Metal type? That makes more sense to me.

[offtracks]

I'm not sure! But the name is very old - maybe whoever made it up simply had never seen one that was not steel!

[guilmon]

Picking names must be hard... Guilmon knew he was Guilmon because Takato said so, but scientists probably have to do all kinds of work to figure things out.

[offtracks]

Yes, I suppose they must! I have only ever given my own Pokemon partners nicknames, but that is easier - none of them were hatchlings, so they had their own opinions!

[guilmon]

Ooh... So you asked them if they liked their names! That's really smart.

[offtracks]

Indeed! It is probably harder with a hatchling, I suppose, but - well, that's a bit like a human child! Anyway, there is no need to give them a personal name right away. Just like here, it's very common to refer to Pokemon simply as their species name. I cannot say about this place, but in Hisui, that is polite unless you know them very well!

[guilmon]

Mm... That's how it is with Digimon, too. It probably gets confusing if there's a lot of the same type of Digimon, but Guilmon's the only Guilmon.

[offtracks]

Ah, how interesting! It does seem as if there's quite a bit in common...anyway, yes, it can become a bit confusing with groups! One just has to work around it.

[guilmon]

I wonder if that's hard for the Pokémon here... Ribombee probably isn't the only Ribombee around, and I bet it's like that for all the others, too.

[Hmm... Things you don't normally think about, but now he has to because it's different here.]

[offtracks]

I suppose so...I have not met more than one of the same Pokemon here, except among our own number. Perhaps that is strange!

[guilmon]

Hmm... Maybe we just have to find them! Then they can explain everything...

[That makes sense, right? He hopes so, anyway...]

They do live in groups in the woods! You simply cannot really speak with those Pokemon...they are all afflicted with frenzy, it seems.

[guilmon]

...Is there any way to make them better?

[That doesn't sound very fun... Even if Guilmon kind of gets it. He used to get really angry, too!]

[offtracks]

One usually has to battle them to a standstill!

[Sounds a little rough, but there's really nothing else for it!]

[guilmon]

Oh. Guilmon can do that! We had to fight lots of Digimon before, and most of them were really stubborn...

[offtracks]

You are familiar with battling? That will likely make things much easier for you! You will still have to adjust to your new moves, of course, but at least you have the idea of it!
