First Quest [Video, towards the end of the first day of QuestBoard]
[A blue Nidoran in a blue bandana smiles gently at you and nods in greeting. You may have met her, you may have not - therefore, she ought to introduce herself before trying an experiment.]
Hello. This is Firoza Istus - you may call me Firoza if you like. I am not good at this sort of communication...but that is going to work to my advantage. I want to share something with everyone.
[The memory that bubbles up is allowed to come freely - it's not nearly as clear or steady as what a Psychic Pokemon would be able to share, but it is intentional, rather than accidental. The image is of a desk, where an attendant lays out thin plates decorated like tiny slides of stained glass, each image unique, and there's a sense of...a task, that goes with each one.]
This is a system we have where I'm from, where people can put in requests for adventurers to do a task, such as protect cargo or slay beasts, or guide travelers to and from places. They are called leves. Similar ones can come in all the time, and like quests are represented by like images. Where I've done much adventuring, in Eorzea, usually they depict sainted individuals of the gods of the realm. In other lands, the system has proved to be very popular, and the images for leves are different - but it is the same concept.
[The memory fades back to the Nidoran, looking contemplative and at peace.]
'Tis reminiscent of that board in town. And...it is welcoming to see. So, I wonder...is there aught similar where you are from? I should like to learn about it, and about all of you in turn.

Hey. Yeah, I've seen those where I'm from. The exact same ones, actually.
[She sends back a memory of the leves, very similar to Firoza's own... The only difference is that the image is being viewed through a screen.]
Just... not in real life.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. They're quite beautiful.
[It's a weird response to be sure, but. Well. You just keep seeing weird things all the time, you learn to roll with it while also gaping internally.]
Did you have a favorite?

[The art is really pretty...]

i am not a FF gamer i just play one on DW. please pretend this makes sense lmao
[Which almost definitely doesn't apply to someone who actually lives the quests.]
To look at... The one with the chocobo on it, maybe?
[A hazy impression of the Sympathy guildleve is sent through the Grumpearl, followed almost immediately by a clearer memory of another chocobo viewed through a smaller screen: the cutesy, 3D model from FanGO. Shoka tosses it a virtual fruit with a flick of her thumb, much to its virtual delight.]
ye it's good!
Eh nevermind, she gets the concept Shoka is trying to explain and nods.] T'was always simpler to just collect dropped cargo and the like. I did enjoy those. And defending supplies, or checking routes for travel, those were good. Some of them...I would rather not do, such as killing certain beasts in great quantities. Thinning some hordes of dangerous creatures I understand, but to continue killing for a period of time with no goal? It felt needless.
[Not that she wasn't good at it - Shoka definitely gets a sense of competence coming from Firoza over the Grumpearl. She can fight, that's not the issue. But why just keep killing stuff if there's no need?
At the image of the cutesy chocobo, Firoza makes a little surprised sound, and a brief image of an also cutesy chocobo and its weird little mechanical buddy flashes by.]
Oh! That's like Alpha!
no subject
[In FanGO, those same creatures were her buddies! But she can't completely agree, since for her it was just a game, and sometimes she does enjoy some needless killing.
Speaking of creature buddies, though... The image of Alpha makes her suddenly perk up.]
Oh my god, wait. Wait, you've—... Have you met him? Like, actually?

Is—... Is he cute?
no subject
Of course. The Ironworks even made a wind-up minion in his likeness, he's so cute. In the outfit and everything.
no subject
[It should have been her!!]
no subject
Did I...say something wrong?
no subject
Kinda wish I could meet him...
no subject
[A pause.]
Well, mayhap someday, you could come to Eorzea and we could look for him. He's taken to adventuring, but sometimes he'll turn up in a major city for holidays. I'm sure he would be happy to meet you.

[Next to having her own Chocobo and Carbuncle. Speaking of which...]
Anyways... What kinda jobs were you taking on back home?
no subject
[Swords are cool.]
The Vipers of Tural are particularly intriguing...and the Samurai of Kugane and Doma...the Red Mages too, but spellcasting beyond very basic things is beyond my ken. It took some time to understand when to use what I do know in battle, and when not to offer quick healing because it offends your conjurer.
