[It's the end of the day, most guild Pokémon should be getting ready to turn in right about now, and yet Aegiomon finds himself turning to the grumpearl. Maybe it's just him, but he loves a good late night conversation and there's been something on his mind for awhile now.]
I've been thinking...a-and I know it might sound dumb, but... Well, I know I'm far from the only person here who's really missing someone. Lots of someones, actually! And sometimes...I catch myself seeing if I can find them whenever I'm walking around in crowds.
But...they wouldn't be the same, right? They'd be Pokemon like the rest of us, so...it's kinda silly thinking you'd see a human, or a Digimon, or whatever else there is all of the sudden.
D-Do you ever think about what kinda Pokémon they'd be? Would it be easy to tell that it's even them? Would they be happy?

[He wanted someone who wouldn't be afraid to punch him if he was deviating from the good intentions he started out with.]
The younger students are also really interesting to think about what they might be. Sakura, he'd probably be a Litten or something. Though it'd be easy to think of how many Furin students could be Fighting types, given the givens.
The one who I think would struggle the most coming here would probably be Tsubaki, because he's spent so much time becoming who he wants to be, like physically in terms of appearance. I think being changed into a Pokemon would kinda fuck with him.

[Aegiomon begins to wonder if there's a rock AND steel-type Pokémon this Hiragi could become. It sounds like an amazing type combo that could stand up to anything and couldn't possibly have a million weaknesses.
So cool!]
Students, huh? So is "Furin" a school where people learn to fight or something? Sorry, I don't know a whole lot about schools...
no subject
[...like Ume, clearly a delinquent.]
no subject
[Does Inori know that?! Does Inori go to a bad high school?!]
Why the heck are you going to a place like that?! You like it? Really?
no subject
Before I arrived here, I was doing a pretty good job of it, too.
no subject
That's...that's awesome. You're a hero...
no subject
[He looks sheepish, ears tilting back a little.]
If I had a few of my friends here, I'd be tempted to be more proactive, maybe, about how things could be better here.
no subject
S-Sorry, but still...! I think that's really, really cool. I wish more people wanted to make things better for everyone... Even just a little bit. And...! I think you already helped a lot so far! If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be learning how to track scents.
no subject
Yeah? Have you done anything really cool with that skill in tracking yet?
no subject
N-No, not yet. It's not my fault, though! My leaves carry a really strong scent, so I'm still not used to sniffing past them! But...if I focus really hard, I can usually find what I'm looking for.
[An idea!]
I could probably track you in the Spire if you give me the chance!
I think about this all the dang time so Sanji's gonna too
The soft voice reminds him enough of Chopper to keep him from instantly yelling at the kid for being stupid worrying about pointless things. For now. He gives the pudding another stir with the spoon in his teeth before responding. It's just voice. He's too tired to figure out anything fancy.]
Sometimes. I got a stupid captain back home that literally has "monkey" in the name, so he might be one of those Aipom things?? Like I didn't have a hard enough time keeping his damn grabby hands off the food. Tch. [His face darkens, not that it can be seen.] ...wouldn't mind him causing a ruckus about now though. Annoying as hell, but at least he'd be here, y'know? [....the homesickness, melancholy, whatever it is, is contagious...
Would they be happy? Ha.] Hard to get someone like Luffy down. The rest of my crew...would need some time to adjust I think. But him? Heh. I think he could be turned into a peanut and still find a way to become the King of the Pirates. [If he survived that shit in Sabaody, anyway....but it's best not to think like that. Luffy is Luffy. If anyone could survive that...Luffy can.]
It's so much fun and omg I used to headcanon aipom luffy too
Well, luckily there isn't a peanut Pokémon for him to turn into. At least...I think there isn't. ...Wait, is there? [He shakes his head before he gets too caught up in the idea.] E-Either way, it sounds like you were pretty good friends. Not many people would put up with someone they think is annoying, so...that's pretty awesome.
[And it sounds like he has a whole crew of friends??? Must be a popular guy.
Aegiomon then pauses for a second or two.]
....What's a pirate, anyway?
HECK yea. All the monkes are free game tbh. Meant to hc more but ig it's missing captain hours
....hard to be mad at a kid, really. He's asking good questions. Sanji snorts.] Maybe somewhere out there? Dunno. I know there's a donut dog, so really anything's possible, eh? [One he'd like to try cooking. But they're not getting into that today! So. He smiles.] Yeah. Luffy's my captain; I'm his chef. A crew has to be loyal and back up their captain no matter what, y'know? Unless he's being a complete idiot. Then I get to kick him around a bit. It's fine, he's made of rubber. [Normal things to say with no context.
He pauses a moment. Luffy wasn't doing too well when Sanji got sent here...but...He'll be fine. He'll be fine. Everyone will be fine.
He perks up at that question, rather baffled.] What's a pirate?? Kid, what- is there not an ocean where you come from?
someone app luffy challenge
Or...if this donut dog is real, then it sounds like a Pokémon, too. Honestly, he's more worried about them kicking each other around...]
Um...kind of? [Okay, okay, he's got this. He can sleuth this out. Pirates have to do with the ocean. What's in the ocean?] Is it a kind of fish, then?
[But then...how is he a monkey? Or a peanut?! What IS a Luffy, exactly?!]
Sorry, I...I'm still learning all sorts of things. Inori would've filled me in by now, I'm not used to figuring this stuff out on my own.
audio;
... Except that's what his mom's ghost looked like a few months back. Okay. Maybe a Mightyena — nope, he's not doing this anymore. ]
My friend Colin would probably just wind up as some pig. Oinkologne or Pignite or something. [ He sounds a little frazzled, trying to ignore his first train of thought. ] He'd be hard to miss once he starts sleeping all over my stuff.
no subject
W-What about that first one, I'm pretty sure those weren't pigs just now.
[Sorry, Bigby, were you frazzled??? Is this frazzling you??????]
Who was that lady, Bigby? She looked nice.
no subject
[ He's so used to his thoughts being image free on this thing, but now he's just thinking about her even more. What a fucking disaster. ]
Oh, her? She's... my boss. [ Desperately trying to stay calm, cool, and collected, all things he's definitely known for. ] You'd probably like her, actually. She's good with kids. [ Why did he have to immediately think of her first. ] Just couldn't figure out a Pokémon for her, is all.
no subject
She must be a really good boss if she was the first person you thought of. That's awesome that you get to work with nice people, Bigby.
[Bigby status update: NOT a friendless loser.]
That first Pokémon was kinda pretty, I thought it fit.
no subject
[ Just take the L, Bigby. ]
I guess... I must think so too. Hard to imagine her as anything else.
no subject
You could've said that from the start, y'know. But it's okay, if she's a secret friend, I won't tell anybody.
[...or, well, anybody who hasn't overheard this conversation.]
So what's that Pokémon called, anyway?
no subject
[ He's clearly just frustrated at this point, but he's really trying not to take it out on Aegiomon for only asking. ]
... A Ninetales. Special one. Makes snow instead of fire.
no subject
Y'know, I could see Inori being a snow Ninetales, too. I think that's why I wanted to know more about her so badly... I think...I think it's cool that we both have really good friends like that...
[Wait, no, that wasn't dialing back at all.]
no subject
I don't know what I'd do if I encountered someone that I know here, but, goodness, Caspian, I feel like would be that giant walking whale Pokemon. They were pretty tall and built like a brick wall, I think that one would be the Pokemon Caspian would end up being if he were there.
no subject
Heh, I bet it'd be pretty funny to see them try to walk around like that. I don't think I've ever seen that Pokémon before... It's kinda like a giant ball with legs!
[Said Aegiomon, who comes from a world where several variations of Mamemon exist.]
You think they'd be able to handle it?
no subject
It really would be pretty funny to try and watch them try to walk around with the tiny legs. I've been hearing about them over at the archives, they're pretty neat. Like I never would've thought that walking whales would be a real thing here.
[ Dolly smiles softly as she hears the question though. ]
I think Caspian would do well here, they've adapted to a lot of things from his travels as a storyteller.
[ Poor Dolly has no clue about the mercenary part though, oops. ]
no subject
I wonder how big they are... The whales I know were big enough to ride in their mouth... Something THAT big would have a hard time walking on land, right? They gotta be smaller.
[Small...whale... Doesn't sound right, either. Hm.]
...You think they'd still be fluffy?
[Enter mental image of the same Cetitan now covered in fur.]
no subject
I wonder too, I think you're right on the money that they'd be smaller to walk on land like that, gravity would've been too much otherwise. I'd guess about as tall as one of the trees in the forest possibly.
[ It is weird to think of Caspian as small as they were about 6'0", a monster size for an ahuizotl....would he actually be bigger? The biggest friend shape out there? ]
You know, I think the fluffy fur would be cute...I hope Caspian does get to keep their fluff.
[ Yep...Dolly was sold on a fluffy Caspian Cetitan... ]
no subject
You guys think about this? I mean, I know one of my... people is around, even if he's not in a guild, and he's an Absol.
But this place isn't th'sort of place people like those where I come from thrive.
no subject
[Surely he knows more than one person.]
Still, it's cool you have a friend here with you. I hope one of the guilds notices 'em soon.
no subject
But I dunno. He tends t'show up only sometimes. And our relationship is complicated. [ perrin. is certain the ghost that keeps showing up is actually here. ] Wonder which guild would pick 'im up, though.
no subject
Mm...probably Oran Berries, right? That's their thing, they like helping people who don't really have anywhere else to belong.
CW: References to death!
I mean...There's been people here who came here when they should be dead, so others could definitely come here no matter what happened right?
...I...I like to think they'd be happy here.
I've been happy here anyway...
no subject
Is...is that where the ghost-types are coming from?
no subject
[He's tackling this with a surprisingly casual air!] I don't think so. I'm not actually sure Ghost types are really dead? I mean, I definitely don't think Emmet is...
But, Anasui's a Psychic type, and he would've been dead, so it definitely isn't that.
[He doesn't really feel bad name-dropping Anasui either, because the bird hasn't been shy about saying it.]
no subject
Man, where do ghost-types come from, then?
[Wait, no, not important.]
I guess it has nothing to do with typing. Hatenna's a psychic-type, too, and I don't think she was previously dead.
no subject
...Ideal??? Probably?]
...You know, that's a good question...I mean, Polteageist is tea, and-
[no wait he's getting sidetracked]
I guess not! I didn't get the impression that happened to her either, so.
audio;
Oh! I thought I'd be the only one thinking about that. [ A beat. ] ... I doubt they would be happy about winding up here though.
no subject
Really? Why not?
[...Well, probably the same reason everyone has, this isn't their home. But he'd like to think having a friend around helps a little. ...Right?]
video
[III is quiet, obviously sad but trying to talk about his family anyways.]
I don't know exactly what kind of Pokémon they'd be, but IV... I think he'd be some sort of Ghost or Dark type. Maybe a Fire type, if this world were cruel to him. V would probably be a Steel type, or a Psychic like me. Tron...
[III pauses to think, his mind going to the years his father spent missing and the subsequent revenge quest.]
...I don't think he'd handle coming here well. IV either, actually. I... I do know one person who might handle it well, but I barely know him.
no subject
There's just one thing that is tripping him up.]
Um... I'm sorry, but...what do the numbers mean?
audio;
[ parvati's happy to chime in, but there's a bit of sadness on her end. it's so minute, though, like she's trying to snuff it out. ] Unpredictable, that sort of thing. I'm sure they'd like the transforming.
My friend Felix'd probably be, like, a Rockruff. He has that sort of energy, and he's pretty good at being supportive in his own way. [ his own very weird and endearingly silly way. ]
Hmmm. [ less onto specifics, nyoka's a fighting type without question. ellie's probably fairy, no matter how embarrassing she'd find it. sam's a robot so... steel. and the vicar...? what would he be other than insanely irritated by his predicament. ] Not sure about specifics for my other friends, gotta think on that.
no subject
[Like, transforming that isn't evolution? Aegiomon doesn't even know if there's a Digimon like that...
Wait, no, getting sidetracked.]
Rockruff is like...a dog, right? At least I know that one... If he's got dog energy, then I can think of a few people he'd get along with.
[Aegiomon doesn't exactly know what "dog energy" is, but...does one really need to define it to understand it?]
Man, that makes a lot of sense, though... I guess I do have goat energy... And you kinda have, uh... [Pink energy? Goggle energy?] ...hammer energy.
[So if "energy" is what defines what people turn into, what does that say about people like Bigby????]
